Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Pass will hit PS4, Xbox One & PC in the coming weeks with 6 Operators
Rainbow Six Siege's Year 5 Pass has leaked, suggesting that only 6 new Operators in the pipeline for 2020. And The Year 5 Pass is expected to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in the coming weeks. Let's see in details.
Ahead of Year 5 and its upcoming reveal at the Six Invitational held in Montreal in February, a Reddit user has leaked an in-game message (thanks, TSA) from an upcoming build that suggests we will be getting fewer Operators than usual.
The idea of having fewer operators added to the game is going to be quite polarizing amongst the Siege community. There have been many vocal critics throughout the life span of the game who feel as though the addition of too many new operators as watered down the game. Then there are those who think that more operators being present has enhanced the overall experience. But you can’t please everyone. It really all depends on how much Ubisoft plans to sell the pass for. If it remains at its current price then expect to see massive outrage.
The Year 5 Pass was expected to complement the arrival of Year 5, Ubisoft's premium-tier membership inclusive of upcoming Operators, and bundled with exclusive skins and boosters. However, the usual December release window passed with no mention of an annual membership, followed with speculation on its status, and ties to the absent Battle Pass.
Some notable changes there, including the fact that we’ll only be getting six new Operators, rather than the usual eight. Additionally, it doesn’t look like the Year 5 Pass will include any credits (in the past 600 bonus credits were included). So yeah, at least on the face of it, it seems like the Y5 Pass won’t be quite as enticing as some of the ones we’ve got in previous years.
As we’ve had quite a few Rainbow Six Siege operations (or seasons) it’s getting pretty easy to figure out when the next one is going to drop. The Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 release date is March 10, 2020 if our best guess is correct. Traditionally, Ubisoft puts a new season of content live on test servers on the Tuesday following the season reveal – the new content stays there for three weeks before moving over to live servers.
The Year 5 Pass will net players six Operators with a seven-day headstart, exclusive customisation items, a 10 percent shop discount, 5 percent Renown boost, 0.3 percent Alpha Pack boost, 30 percent Battle Pass discount and a 30 percent Battle Points bonus. Previously, 600 credits were also included in the pass, but that doesn't appear to be the case this time, with the notification not mentioning any additional credits. It does appear to have lost some of its value, but the price of the pass may also reflect this.
However, some Reddit users believe that Ubisoft plan to completely rework two existing operators and re-release them in Year 5. This wouldn't be surprising at all since the devs confirmed a couple of times that they are looking into possible ways to make some unpopular operators more viable and attractive.
