Pokemon Go will be hosting a spring equinox event, Pokémon GO Equinox event 2019 in the coming months. The event will takes place from March 19th – 26th and
feature increased spawns of Grass type Pokemon, Lunatone and Solrock switching places and two new moves: Acid Spray and Leaf Tornado. Like other Pokemon GO events, there will likely be smaller bonuses accompanying this. Besides, rumor has it that Niantic will use this event to finally add Glaceon and Leafeon as one of the bonuses. So far, there’s no word on it yet and we don’t know which (if any) new shiny Pokémon will be available during this event either. Pokemon Go Spring 2019 Equinox Event Overview
For anyone who doesn’t know what the Equinox is, it’s when the centre of the sun goes exactly above the Earth’s equator, so night and day are equal lengths of time. It only happens twice a year on March 20 and September 23. therefore, a Pokemon Go Equinox Event aims to celebrate the arrival of spring, or autumn depending upon your hemisphere. Pokemon Go Spring 2019 Equinox Event Schedule
Pokemon Go Equinox Event – March 19-26
Starts – March 19: 1pm PT, 4pm ET, 9pm UK, 10pm CEST
Ends – March 26: 1pm PT, 4pm ET, 9pm UK, 10pm CEST
What To Expect From Pokemon Go Spring 2019 Equinox Event?
This year, The Pokemon Go Equinox celebration shifts the focus to Grass-type Pokemon during the week-long event. This means that Grass-type Pokemons such as Oddish, Exeggcute, Sunkern, and Shroomish will appear more frequently in the wild.
Additionally, the rare Rock/Psychic-types Solrock and Lunatone, which each appear in only one hemisphere at a time, will switch locations at the start of the event in celebration of the equinox. After the equinox event officially ends on 26 March 2019, 1:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM CET, both Lunatone and Solrock will stay in their new hemispheres.
Moreover, all the Pokemon that are featuring in the event will be available to challenge in raids and Field research obtained between these dates will also offer challenges in relation to a new special limited-time Grass-type Pokemon.
In addition, you will also see two new moves including the Poison move Acid Spray and the Grass move Leaf Tornado being permanently added to the game. A list of which Pokemon can access each move can be seen below:
Acid Spray: Arbok, Victreebel, Tentacruel, Muk, Alolan Muk, Quagsire, Qwilfish, Octillery, and Swalot

As for the Pokemon Go March community day, Niantic confirmed that the event will take place on 23 March 2019, from 15:00 to 18:00 regardless of which time zone players may be in. It will feature Treecko with new, yet unannounced special moves.
