Pokemon Go New Legendary Raid Bosses for May, June and July: Creelia, Kyogre, and Groudon and How to Catch All of Them
This month's Community Day may have ended, but the
Legendary Pokémon that will be in Pokémon Go raids for the next two months are already announced by Niantic now. They include: Cresselia, Kyogre, and Groudon. Here's what's coming up next:
Cresselia will grace raids from May 27 at 4 p.m. ET until June 18 at 4 p.m. ET.
Kyogre will be around from June 18 at 4 p.m. ET until June 27 at 4 p.m. ET.
Groudon will take its place on June 27 at 4 p.m. ET until July 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
All three of these Legendaries have been featured in tier five raids in the past, but they’re making a return for a couple weeks each during the summer. All three of the Pokémon will have a chance to appear Shiny. The Shiny rate for these Legendaries should be about one in 19. To attract those pokemon out in the wild, you can buy Incense with

Best Cresselia Counters:
Cresselia is a Tier 5 Legendary Raid Boss in Pokemon GO (33794 Combat Power). Best Cresselia counters are strong Ghost and Dark-type users like Gengar, Mewtwo, Tyranitar, but also strong Bug-types like Scizor and Pinsir. Cresselia is weak to Bug, Dark and Ghost moves. Here are the move types that Cresselia is weak against: Ghost, Dark, and Bug. As a result, here are the best counters (with their best move set):
Mewtwo (Confusion/Shadow Ball)
Tyranitar (Bite/Crunch)
Gengar (Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball)
Scizor (Fury Cutter/X Scissor)
Houndoom (Snarl/Foul Play)
Honchkrow (Snarl/Dark Pulse)
Best Kyogre Counters:
Kyogre is a Tier 5 Legendary Raid Boss in Pokémon Go, being a member of the Weather Trio with Groudon and Rayquaza. Best Kyogre counters are strong Electric and Grass-type Pokemon, but it heavily depends on Kyogre’s move set. Here are the best Pokemon to counter Kyogre in Pokemon GO, and the moves players will want them to have when taking them into the raids:
Raikou – Thunder Shock/Wild Charge
Zapdos – Charge Beam/Thunderbolt
Latios – Zen Headbutt/Solar Beam
Venusaur – Vine Whip/Frenzy Plant
Sceptile – Bullet Seed/Leaf Blade
Exeggutor/Alolan Exeggutor – Bullet Seed/Solar Beam
Groudon – Dragon Tail/Solar Beam
Kyogre – Waterfall/Thunder
Ho-Oh – Extrasensory/Solar Beam
Jolteon – Thunder Shock/Thunderbolt
Best Groudon Counters:
Groudon is a Tier 5 Legendary Raid Boss in Pokémon GO, being a member of the Weather Trio with Rayquaza and Kyogre. The best Groudon counters are strong Water and Grass-type Pokemon such as Gyarados, Kyogre, Feraligatr, Venusaur and Roserade. As a result, we recommend putting a strong Gyarados, equipped with Waterfall and Hydro Pump at the top of the roster. This will be the strongest counter to Groudon and players may want to burn some TMs to make sure they have at least one Gyarados with the right skillset to bring to the table.
After Gyarados, Trainers can also take Solar Beam, Leaf Blade, or Hydro Pump into the fight. Many players likely already have a number of strong Vaporeon with the best moveset, so they will be a good option. Other possibilities include Exeggutor, Articuno, Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, and Venusaur.
