Last month, Pokemon Go developer Niantic announced it would be bringing three Legendary Pokemon back to the game as five-star Raids for a limited time. They are
Cresselia, Kyogre, and Groudon.
Cresselia will be the first to return, appearing in Raids from May 27 to June 18. Kyogre will follow from June 18 to June 27, while Groudon is scheduled to appear from June 27 to July 10. So, if you've yet to catch a Kyogre or Groudon, here’s your last chance. To increase you chance, you can buy Incense to attract them out in the wild with

How to Get Groudon in Pokemon GO?
Groudon is also one of the Legendary Weather Trio of Pokémon Generation 3. It's a Ground-type Pokémon. Therefore, the best Groudon counters are strong Water and Grass-type Pokemon such as Gyarados, Kyogre, Feraligatr, Venusaur and Roserade. However, you cannot just use your best instance of these Pokémon, as moves and weather can shred every single one of these. Fire Blast will burn Grass and Ice types, and Solar Beam will ruin all Water counters except for Gyarados.
The only guaranteed counters in any weather or moveset are, as previously mentioned, Gyarados and Ice Beam Mewtwo.
As Groudon is a tough boss to create a team for, we recommend groups of 3-6, for high-level trainers, or 7-20 for lower level players. Here are your best Pokemon and moves that will help in taking out Groudon:
Jynx with Frost Breath/Avalanche
Empoleon with Waterfall/Hydro Pump
Meganium with Vine Whip/Frenzy Plant
Cacturne with Sucker Punch/Grass Knot
Vileplume with Razor Leaf/Solar Beam
Blastoise with Water Gun/Hydro Cannon
Tangela with Vine Whip/Power Whip
Sharpedo with Waterfall/Hydro Pump
Vaporeon with Water Gun/Hydro Pump
How to Get Kyogre in Pokemon Go?
Kyogre is also one of the Legendary Weather Trio of Pokémon Generation 3. It's a Water-type Pokémon
Since Kyogre is an Water-type Pokémon — the Water-type Pokémon — it's resistant to Fire, Steel, Ice, and Water. While it has no double-resistances or double weaknesses, Kyogre is still weak to Electric and Grass.
So, Raikou with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge, being the best Electric attacker in the game, is your go-to. If you don’t have enough Raikou, you can round out your team with Zapdos (Charge Beam + Thunderbolt).
Also handy, as always, are your Solar Beam attackers, which puts Exeggutor (Bullet Seed + Solar Beam) and Venusaur (Vine Whip + Solar Beam) near the top as well.
Here are some other counters and moves you can use to put up a good team:
Raikou with Thunder Shock/Wild Charge
Exeggutor with Bullet Seed/Solar Beam
Zapdos with Charge Beam/Thunder Bolt
Jolten with Thunder Shock/Thunder Bolt
Venusaur with (Anything)/Solar Beam
Dragonite with (Anything)/(Anything)
Sceptile with (Anything)/Leaf Blade
Ho-Oh with (Anything)/Solar Beam
Groudon with Mud Shot/Solar Beam
Lugia with(Anything)/Solar Beam
If you wanna catch more legendary pokemon, there will be a special Raikou Raid Day this Saturday, June 29. The Legendary dog will reappear in Raid Battles from 4-7 PM local time, and you'll have a chance to encounter a Shiny Raikou during those hours.
