Niantic is partnering up with Playmob and hosting its second annual Earth Day 2019 campaign that will reward Pokemon Go players with some great rewards if they help clean up their communities and make the world a better place. Depending on the number of players that attend the cleanup events, various rewards will be unlocked in the world of Pokemon GO such as increased appearance Ground-type Pokemon spawns, Shiny Diglett, and more. Keep on reading for what rewards you can unlock for participating the event.

Therefore, Niantic is now encouraging Pokémon Go players to participate in Earth Day cleanups, for the second year in a row.
 
Earth Day is officially celebrated on April 22, though clean up usually begins on April 13. Clean up will generally continue until April 28.
 
Earth Day 2019 Event Rewards
 
To sweeten the deal, Niantic is offering Pokemon Go players a few cumulative bonuses globally for both Ingress (Niantic’s other AR game) and Pokémon GO. However, specific goals will need to be achieved.
 
2,000 players :
Pokémon GO – Increased appearances of Ground-type Pokémon
Ingress – Increased probability of getting heatsinks, multihacks, shields (all kinds) and power cubes (all kinds including Lawson)
 
5,000 players:
Pokémon GO – Shiny Diglett + Increased appearances of Ground-type Pokémon
Ingress – 2X AP linking
 
7,000 players:
Pokémon GO – 2X Stardust and Candy for Event Spawns / Groudon in Raids + Shiny Diglett + Increased appearances of Ground-type Pokémon
Ingress – 2X AP fielding

Pokemon GO Diglett is a Ground type Pokemon with a max CP of 676, 109 attack, 78 defense and 67 stamina in Pokemon GO. Diglett is vulnerable to Grass, Ice and Water type moves.
