New World releases test servers, bringing update to PVP, trading posts and new enemies
The new world of Amazon games seems to be in tip-top shape following its successful launch, and despite weird bots and server issues, it looks like it's going to be a serious contender in the big Mmo game for years to come. Now that the early phase has passed smoothly, the developer has announced the new world open beta field.
Fairly common in Mmos, PTR is basically a set of early-access servers that allow developers to gather feedback and test new content before adding it to the game. "Between our internal testing efforts and your feedback, we want to catch and resolve all serious issues before they reach the live server," the announcement reads. "Hundreds of changes have been made and full release notes will be shared on launch day."
The PTR will allow players to immediately upgrade to a certain range, with the appropriate equipment, and will be accessible to anyone who already owns the game on Steam. The New World Public Test Realm application should be in everyone's Steam library by the end of the day, and the PTR server will be open today at noon PT (7pm UTC).
"When the beta period is over and the major new World games are updated with previews, all worlds will be closed and cleared. You will still see new World PTR applications in your Steam library, but there will be no active servers until we next announce the beta."
Ok, so: What is it testing? The developers are seeking feedback on some of the additions, Especially including new vanity hand weapon (with the "gain and debuffs arsenals of DPS/support mixed weapon), a new enemy camp watts LanJiAn raiders, a pile of new low - level beast (" dragon of withered, the beatles, lost shaman, pirates, ancient guard fire warlock and enhanced corrupt labor!" ) and a new legendary weapon quest series.
The main storyline missions have also been tweaked with "new mission types and mission variants, including wave events, destructible objects, and neighboring nodes for tracking."
There are also three new PVP faction mission types: control points, where you can capture a fortress; Intercept, where you beat the enemy, here it says, "gather their tears"; War camp loot, where you must retrieve plans from enemy camps. Most importantly, the "poaching" mission has been removed (which may have been a reference to some non-PVP related BS collecting PVP missions), and "almost all" PVP missions now depend on death rather than confiscation.
Finally, this is big news for economists. "All trading posts are linked and unified! You can buy and sell the same results from any trading post in the world. The cost of a buy and sell order is defined by the settlement you publish. In addition, transaction taxes "the purchases you make are defined by the settlement of the purchases you make. Expired items listed in the sales order will be returned to the settlement they issued."
