When does Apex Legend season 2 start?
The new season of Apex Legends, titled Battle Charge, will start on July 2. Respawn Entertainment revealed the date of the next season during EA Play at E3 2019.
What’s new in Apex Legends Season 2?
The biggest news regarding the Season 2 Battle Pass so far is the introduction of Daily and Weekly challenges to players to help players to work their way through the Battle Pass progression system more quickly than had been the case in the past.
Players will get three new challenges every day, and there are reportedly over two hundred daily challenges that will be randomly assigned.
There will also be two different types of weekly challenges for battle pass owners as well. The first will be set weekly challenges that are the same for every player. These will unlock each week and contain seven individual challenges that are designed to take longer to complete as players are asked to do things like loot 100 epic items or earn several kills.
The second type of weekly challenges will be the same every week. Players will need to complete five daily challenge, 10 daily challenges and earn 9,000 STARS or match XP to fulfill the requirements. These challenges will reset each week, allowing players to finish them multiple times throughout the season.
Perhaps, the pivotal new change coming in Battle Charge is the map change in season 2. Shown in the trailer above,Bridges has been destroyed, new base camps have been established throughout King's Canyon, and the shattered forest area has turned luscious and green. There's also dragons dotted about,in cages or perched on buildings, and the big-ol' striders once confined to the map's edge are stomping around with them. And the Leviathans, the massive beasts which had lurked off the shore of Kings Canyon, were slowly making their way towards the island.
Also shown in the trailer is the addition of a new L-Star weapon.Respawn says the L-Star will be a dropped weapon not otherwise available on the map as it is "overpowered." It is a light machine gun which will fire larger projectiles than other weapons and can be used to open doors in buildings. If it's indeed similar to the version of the gun we saw in Titanfall, it should be quite the powerful pickup.
Another coming to Apex Legends Season 2 is the addition of the long-awaited ranked mode. We're waiting on the full details of this new mode, but it will pit players against those of similar skill levels with the best players earning the title of Apex Predator and should also greatly improve the game's matchmaking mode, which currently doesn’t operate off strict skill restrictions.
Other changes coming in Apex Legends season 2 include a new character, Wattson, new skydiving emotes, skins, a better Battle Pass with more unlockable content and myriad improvements to the game.
